FiLIP can locate your kids on any adventure. To check location, start at the home screen and press "Locate." Select the device you would like to locate. This will launch the map screen with an icon to designate the specified device. You will then see the latest reported location of the FiLIP device. The frequency of these location updates can be adjusted in the settings.
To call your child’s FiLIP device from the app, start at the home screen and press “Call.” Select the device you would like to call. The number of the device will be displayed on your screen; press “Call.” You will be connected as you would with any other mobile phone call. Speak normally with your smartphone, and when the conversation is over, hang up as you normally would. It’s that simple.
You can send your kids short texts on the FiLIP. Start at the home screen and press “Message.” Select the FiLIP device you would like to reach. Type a short message (up to 16 characters) and press “Send.” For example, “Dinner’s ready!”
A SafeZone is a virtual radius around a destination which you can set using the FiLIP app. When a SafeZone is set, notifications will be sent to your smartphone via a push notification from the FiLIP app whenever your child enters or leaves a SafeZone. For example, you could set a SafeZone around your child’s school to know when they arrive and leave.
There are two buttons on the FiLIP watch – one green and one red. In the event of an emergency, your child can press the red button (Intelligent Emergency) for 3 seconds. This will call the phone number entered in the FiLIP as the first contact. If there is no answer from that number, FiLIP will automatically call each of the 5 contact numbers entered in the FiLIP until a contact is reached.
